“Probably the best hotel I've stayed in”

TripAdvisor
From the moment we stepped in through the doors we were treated like royalty. Chilled water was brought to us as we sorted out check-in, booked tours, used the internet. The staff try extremely hard and succeed in making this a real oasis.
I tried both the deluxe and superior rooms. There is absolutely nothing to fault with either. Both had expensive furnishings, DVD players, air-con, large bath and oh so much more. Soundproofed and cool, we slept extremely well.
Having travelled in over 60 countries and stayed in all sorts of hotel, this one comes out tops. All other hotels should come here and get a lesson in first class hospitality.

Excellent in all areas. Position great for restaurants but a long way from Citadel the main attraction if you want to walk.
“Lovely small Hotel”

Lovely small hotel with beautiful friendly staff speaking excellent English. Free internet. Breakfast basic but adequate rooms were basic but good and comfortable in room safe and cable TV. Booked a car through the hotel to travel to Hoi An for $US55. the driver spoke good english and we visited a number of locations on the way including some places trying to get you to buy their wares but if you can say no it wont cost you a cent. Value for money hotel

We arrived in Hue without any reservations. At the airport there was a desk with "last minute deals" for the Orchid Hotel. We had seen it on a website and thought it looked good. The gentleman called ahead and they had a deluxe family room available for us at $45/night for 3, breakfast included.
We were pleasantly surprised when we saw the room--one king and one large twin bed, beautiful bathroom, computer, tv, dvd player. More than we expected.
Plus, the staff was excellent. We were greeted at the door by Miss Chi, which set the tone for the whole trip. One of our party walked with a cane so they brought the elevator down to the ground level and he was able to come and go through the storeroom/office.
All things considered it was one of the best experiences I've ever had staying in a hotel, and the price was great. I've highly recommended it and would most definitely stay again when in Hue.
“Friendly and helpful staff, good location and yummy buffet breakfast”

We stayed at Orchid Hotel in Hue, Vietnam for four nights. The staff were very helfpul in helping us book all our Hue tours when we arrived eg; Tombs of Emperor and DMZ tour. The DMZ tour required early departure and the staff accommodated this inconvenience and prepared early breakfast for us, at 5.45am, as the tour bus was scheduled to pick us up at 6.15am. If its was another hotel, we would definitely missed breakfast!
Talking about breakfast, it was an eye opener. There were spring rolls and other fried stuff, cakes and breads, as well tropical fruits and coffee and tea. Plus, you can order scramble egg to go with your toast as well. Enough variety to keep us happy for five days. :) The great thing was that this breakfast was included in the hotel rate of $32USD per night. Its a bargain.
The room itself is quite spacious and the hotel is also pretty new. There was also a DVD player in the room and their DVD movie collection was quite extensive and included new releases.
Finally, the location is quite good. Away from the busy street, but close to lots of restaurants and shops and within walking distance to Hue's famous Perfume river.
“**this hotel is number one on Tripadvisor for a reason and I have listed mine.**”

I stayed here two nights in June after reading lots of good report of this hotel on Tripadvisor, and I now am also a believer of this establishment.
I was met off the bus by the manager of the hotel Mr Dung (it was a free pick up they offered at the time of booking), he put me in a waiting taxi while he rode back to the hotel on his bike.
Once in the lobby, I was offered fresh fruit and refreshment then Ms Chi the receptionist showed me to my room. It is a very nice room too for $35 a night, with a safe in your room, air con, t v and fridge etc etc... including breakfasts of course.
When I enquired about the flights to Hanoi for the next day, Ms Chi immediately picked up the phone and booked my flight and my transportation to the airport too.
The next evening around 6.30pm I said to Mr Dang the other brilliant receptionist that I wanted to send a parcel and as it was quite late, I wasn't sure how and where to go to. He once again came to my rescue by instructed one of the front of house team to take me to the post office on his motor bike. He also noticed that I was leaving very early the next morning and offered to have a take out breakfast ready for me, when I said it wasn't necessary and thanked him. He said he will have the breakfast bar open earlier for me in the morning, and he did even though I declined the offer as I said they have already done enough for me.
Every time I sat down to use the computer downstairs one of the front of house Mr Hung, Mr Anh and Mr Go would appear with a cold drink. It was a nice touch.
Well, this hotel is number one on Tripadvisor for a reason and I have listed mine.
I was only here for two nights but by the time I left I was introduced to everyone in this intimate family run hotel so, I would like to thank every one once again at the hotel for looking after me including Ms Chau and Ms Chau in the restaurant and not to forget the house keeping team.

The Orchid has the most amazing staff I've ever met!! Thery are INCREDIBLE!! Having not booked a hotel beforehand, we first visited a four star hotel (The Camelia). When we got to the Orchid, we were dazzled by the amazingly friendly staff and the just as nice rooms at half the price. We said "We'll definately take the Orchid!!"
The rooms are modern and have large bathtubs and computers. My parents, brother, and I were extremely happy with everything about the Orchid. We are very happy to reccomend this excellent hotel!!

We found the orchid hotel to be of a very high standard. For the price ($35 US a night for a standard room), I thought it was excellent value. The room itself was quite small, and the window faced a brick wall (perhaps it was built out). However - the manager clearly takes a real interest in making his guests happy - it is the little things. The room was very clean, there was fresh fruit and pastries - flowers on the bed (if you like that sort of thing) and DVDs for free use. Downstairs there are a couple of internet computers, and one of the staff will bring you a glass of cold water while you type your e-mails. The breakfast was more than adequate. There was a large selection of fruit and pastries, hot food and you could ask for eggs to be cooked your way.
We are travelling with an infant, and while the room we were in was too small to stay in for a long period of time - there are plenty of bigger rooms (for a marginal extra price) which would be fine for setting up a cot (and they have cots available too).
Very few hotels are perfect - but for $35 a night - I don't see any reason to be unhappy about a stay here! I would recommend a stay in this hotel.

Winding down to the end of our Vietnam holiday, we selected Orchid after reading the review on Tripadvisor. And we were not let down.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - they actually seemed to be genuinely interested in us having an enjoyable time. Even before we arrived, an email to the hotel was responded to very quickly.
The rates we got were excellent and worth it. The internet in the rooms was incredibly fast and the breakfast was good.
After tripping around the sights in the morning on an incredibly hot and muggy day, the hotel was great to return to and enjoy a little time out.
“Outstanding service, absolutely the best value for money”

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of May, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were a party of 6 adults and 2 children, so we booked into 2 superior rooms and a family room; all three rooms were tastefully decorated and very clean and comfortable; the family room even had our own computer with internet connection! The hotel location is very good as well, just a few steps away from the river and the breakfast spread was very decent.
What makes this hotel outstanding however, is the level of personalized service which is one of the best I have seen. The bellboy and the lady at the reception, even the chambermaids, were all friendly, obliging and helpful. There were rose petals scattered on the bedspread, and a welcoming basket of fruit and flowers; everyone made the effort to chat with my two kids every morning and evening as we walked by. My kids loved this place and have voted it their favorite hotel. I would strongly reccommend this mid -range hotel to anyone staying in Hue - it's nicer than many 5-star places I have stayed in.

I have spent 4 weeks in the last 2 months in Vietnam and this was by far the best guesthouse/hotel I stayed at. The rooms were clean, huge, and very modern. It even had a computer IN THE ROOM! Never have I enjoyed that luxury. The staff was extremely helpful and happy. You will LOVE this place.
“Phenominal Value and Staff”

After reading the review on trip advisor we agree whole heartedly with the positive feedback. At $35 a night this hotel greeted us with fresh fruit and water, had very attentive staff (taking care of flights, our future hotels etc.) and came by in the afternoon with more fresh fruit and flowers. Each room also has their on PC and free internet. In North America this type of service would command a price of at least $200/night. Of our entire experience in Vietnam, this is by far the best hotel we have stayed in and highly recommend to others.

“Nice hotel, great service, convenient location”

Orchid Hotel was our first choice for accomodations in Hue. Unfortunately, we let our hotel in Hoi An ring ahead and were incorrectly told they had no availability so we booked at Binh Minh 1. After an uncomfortable night's sleep at Binh Minh, we rang Orchid Hotel on the odd chance there was a cancellation. To our surprise, they did have a room available and sent a driver round to pick us up from Binh Minh at no charge. What service! Even though it was not quite 10am, they allowed us to check into our room. Upon check-in, something was mentioned about our flight to Hanoi and they offered to call and confirm specifically letting Vietnam Airlines know where we were staying in case of any flight changes. Attention to such details was very impressive. Had a DVD player and personal computer in the room. The hotel lobby has an extensive list of movies if you get tired of seeing the sights. Great hotel in a convenient location about a block from the Perfume River. Decent restaurants nearby. There's a reason it's No. 1!
“Friendly hotel, a Hue highlight!”

The Orchid Hotel was a real find. It's a modern hotel, with all the features you'd expect (A/C, TV, room service, etc) plus some personalised touches (fresh fruit and flowers in the room, petals on the bed on arrival, free water while you use the free internet, etc). The room had almost no natural light, which was great for us because we needed some sleep and were able to sleep late in the dark, quiet room. There's plenty of natural light outside :)The staff are the real highlight. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating, we were amazed. There is always someone to greet you in reception, they'll ask you how you slept, furnish you with umbrellas, press the lift button for you, follow up on requests - they were really lovely.

I booked a budget hotel and got a 5-star surprise! The whole experience was just great! I would recommend anyone to this hidden gem!
“Great Hotel and Great Value”

Just wanted to add my thoughts on this hotel as I booked it due to other tripadvisor members reviews. It's a great hotel, we booked a double room for 38 dollars a night and you get a lot for your money at The Orchid, the staff are very friendly, the decor modern, fresh and comfortable. The hotel was laying new carpet on our floor when we arrived and apologised profusely to me but we had no problems with that. In fact one of the staff told me the manager makes sure to refurbish every 3 years which is pretty impressive. Saw the new carpet next day, very nice !Location is very good in Hue, close to some nice restaurants and the staff are superb, Thanks to other tripadvisor members for the heads up, good call !!

The staff at the hotel is great- very friendly and helpful. For the price, this is a great place to stay. I enjoyed breakfast, the internet access, and the selection of DVD's. It is a good central location with good restaurants on on the street- the Tropical Garden is good with great live music.......Overall, very good choice for Hue on a medium budget.

Our family of five agreed this was the most outstanding Hotel we stayed in our months holiday in Vietnam. It is located not far away from where the bus stops from Hoi An.
There were rose petals scattered on our beds when we walked into the room, the kids room (a triple - had free computer/internet IN the room) Cable TV and DVD machines in the rooms with a huge selection of DVD's to borrow from the office .Free tea and coffee making and fresh fruit in the rooms, bath robes, lovely cool drink on arrival in the foyer, outstanding breakfast in the morning (delicious buffet selection in a lovely cosy area) Everything was spotlessly clean, staff were so helpful, and there is a LIFT (big bonus with heavy backpacks) Quite central, and very cheap. Would thoroughly recommend to every type of traveller.
