TripAdvisor member Well, after staying in places all around Vietnam, i have to say, WOW!! This place, for what you pay, is really quite unbelivable. We have paid the same amount for hotels that have not even half the standard of this hotel. So happy i read all the reviews to decide on this accommodation. After a horrible bus ride (went around 20km per hour all the way from Hoi An) we finally arrived at this hotel to be welcomed by smiling happy faces and a fresh cold juice with some sweet crackers and a cool hand towlette. Very grateful and surprised for the hospitality after a hot and squashy 4hours on bus (people were sitting on plastic chairs in the middle of the aisle). Im not a complainer, but this was ridiculous and i felt for the prople sitting on the floor. Felt fortunate we got a seat.
Anyhow, the lovely lady at the front desk says "I am sorry, unfortunately when you made your booking the room you requested was not available", which was the Romantic Room for around 57USD a night. I thought, here we go this is all we need. Then she remarks that because of this muck around that they were happy to give us the honeymoon suite for the first night and then a deluxe room for the second night and proceeded to show us the deluxe room before taking us to our honeymoon suite. WOW.. We were over the moon. Honeymoon Suite.. Round bed (very novel), massive spa filled with rose petals, free internet (same with deluxe room), and the view, well, we were right at the top of the hotel, so could see over the top of the city and part of the perfume river. Ended up eating delivery pizza and pasta so we could take in our surrounds and relax.
Anyhow, ended up calling the reception around 9:30pm (which was no problem) to organise a private motorbike tour for the next day which is so highly recommended. We are people who would just like to take it all in and stroll without the whole 2hours of the history of the temple or palace you know. Gets a bit much and im pregnant so was not wanting to get irratated and hot and just go when we wanted to go. So we basically said where we would like to go and what time to start and end and it was one of the best experiences we have had so far in Vietnam. The drivers were amazing with very good english (Iem & Thang i think). Really nice guys, very good drivers and ask you if you would like to go here or there, giving us options along with the orignal itinerary we had. They asked us if we would like to go and see where Ho Chi Minh used to live with his family, which i dont think is ever visited by tourists.. Really amazing. If you want to get out of the city just tell them and we went out into the pine forests to see Khai Dinh Palace which is so breathtaking, even better than last time i visited. Dont miss this, very under rated and missed alot i think by visitors.
Anyhow, back to the hotel. Breakfast was really great, lots of fruits and coconut cakes and banana crepes, the usual baguettes and eggs/ bacon, i could go on.
The deluxe room for our second night was even fabulous, massive bed, biggest ive ever seen i think. This is seriously the cleanest hotel in Vietnam, im not kidding, the little things mean so much when you have paid for a hotel in the past and the standard is knowhere near like what you expected and the picture on the internet hides the exposed wiring hanging from walls or dirty bathrooms. Little detail like fresh orchids, colour co-ordination, silk robes, fresh fruit, bottles of wine in room, dvd's for inroom dvd players and non tacky paintings is just a priceless thing to provide.
All the staff were amazing and treat you like royalty and i'd like to thank them for their smiling faces and questions like "how was you day" this is so refreshing.
So awesome, i am actually typing this from the room i just couldn't wait to share this gem with you all.
Seriously, dont stay anywhere else or you'll kick yourself..

TripAdvisor member Stayed at the Orchid for two nights. Really nice small hotel. Staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We chose the family room even though we were only 2 and were pleased because it had a small balcony and the room was bigger. In room internet was free. Bathroom had plenty of space to leave toiletries etc. Plenty of space in the wardrobe and lots of hangars, and a safe. Tea & coffee in the room and free bottled water. Everywhere was very clean. Breakfast was buffet style but you could also order eggs etc. freshly cooked.
It was raining all the time we were there but the hotel provided us with umbrellas. Altogether, it was a very pleasant stay. A small hotel like this could certainly teach the bigger hotels the meaning of service! Would highly recommend staying here, especially as the price is so reasonable.

TripAdvisor member After our month's travels in Cambodia and Vietnam, we can highly recommend The Orchid Hotel in Hue as one of the finest for friendliness, cleanliness and value. The breakfasts are very good and we never felt crowded in the small eating area because we ate fairly early, around 7 a.m. The staff is most helpful and accommodating, even celebrating my husband's birthday with a card, cake and flowers. Fresh fruit or pastries were brought to our room every day and there were rose petals on the bed every night. We also apprecated the free use of the in-room computer. We highly recommend this hotel.
“One of the best hotels in Vietnam. Great location, fantastic facilities, outstanding service.”
Feb 2, 2010 | Trip type: Family It was a real delight to stay at the Orchid in Hue. We were met at the train station as agreed and driven to the hotel for welcome drinks and surprise gifts for our two young daughters. The rooms were excellent and beautifully presented. The staff were incredibly attentive and professional. We arranged a driver for the day around Hue (excellent) and a privat car to Hoi An (terrific). This was one of the highlights of our 5 weeks in cambodia and Vietnam. We would strongly recommend this hotel.
“One of the best hotels we stayed in on our world trip!”
Jan 28, 2010 | Trip type: Couples Amazing hotel, we stayed in a few expensive 5 star places on our 5 month honeymoon but this was the same if not better than those!
Rooms are nicely decorated, clean, tv and dvd, computer with internet access! The staff and so lovely and helpful - we were even offered breakfast on the morning we arrived as we arrived so early.
Location in great, very near good bars and restaurants.
Breakfast was ok - had better in Asia, but was still good!! Cant recomend this place enough.
“Fantastic experience staying at Orchid!!”

TripAdvisor member This was my favorite all-time hotel experience. The staff here is incredible--they treated me like I was a visiting Prime Minister. They anticipated all of my needs. Especially recommended is a tour to the DMZ that they organised for me with their driver and a very special guide. Make sure you reserve in advance! “Pretty good value and very comfortable rooms”
Jan 20, 2010 | Trip type: Friends getaway This hotel could be classed as a four star hotel!
This was very comfortable and staff are very helpful and knowledgeable.
Only issue that one of my friends found was the butter was too hard to spread on his toast!
